Quotable quotes I see

"Losing one's own confidence causes a person to fall into confusion, which is hell...To maintain one's confidence, the most important thing is stamina."

    a response to trina's thoughts...

k as the title suggests, i'll be expressing my thoughts on trina's thoughts...lol...so if u are not interested in our thoughts, u can back off now. before i dwell on that, i shall say i just discovered tt the camera attached to my handphone can take photos in diff sizes...as in when i uploaded them, they'll appear as the size i'd chosen before i took the pic...before dis, i tot all pics were of the same size when i uploaded them. i learn sth new evryday huh? ok i learned this quite late, cos i've had this phone for abt a yr now. i just dun haf the habit of fiddling with the features apart from those that matter, such as sms functions...but nvm, at least i discovered it.

now on to my thoughts on trina's thoughts...JC life and sec sch presented different experiences...sec sch was pretty much abt 2 things. in summary, for me, TKGS = BADMINTON + 2/7. y badminton? if u'f been following my blog, or if u r a very gd fren of mine, you shd know. i'd never trade anything else i could have then with the experience of attaining the championship title. being the captain added the icing to the cake...sumhow, it made me feel that all the gruelling sessions of training and PT, as well as team quarrels, were worth it. btw trina, was i really the one who came up with the term "longan and lychee" for our dessert sessions? anyway i wonder how something simple such as a longan or lychee drink could have made us tt happy after training...maybe thats it. cos we had it after training...after 2 or 3 hrs of drills and PT combined...hey btw i loved the chocolate ice kachang too, not only the longan/lychee drink! lol...shall not dwell too much on the experience before and after winning the title, cos afterall these are already etched in our memories. we dun need that many words to help us recapture the whole experience in our minds. so i'll talk abt 2/7. altho i was pretty close to some of my sec 3 - sec 4 classmates, 2/7 pals have shared more experiences with me i guess. maybe cos in sec 4 i was too busy with badminton matters to allocate the time the 4/4 ppl deserved. i enjoyed serving in the class committee though. and my class had 6 captains/chairpersons from various CCAs. badminton, netball, NPCC, string ensemble and choir![ok u might haf realised tts only 5. i forgot the last one, cant recall. eh wait i rem oredi. we had the head librarian too! thats angel koh! lol...] wow tts quite a lot huh...and we'r all in NUS now, altho i rarely meet them on campus. anyway, the more memorable of 4/4 memories are those i share with my row. ok make it column...the ten of us in class...we had this family thing going on. i was a grandmother, can u believe it??? we had the parents, the godparents, the children, a servant and sumthin i cant remember now...cant remember what huiyu was, so girl, do help me recall this. and the thing is i didnt haf a husband! and i dun seem to have held much power in the family i realise. merely a figurehead yea? and most of the time, i'd be talking abt badminton anyway, so my family members got bored with me...hehe. so tts 4/4...2/7 was more wholesome, can i say that? is tt the right word? anyway, the experience included evryone. on big occasions, even those who were usually quiet would rise to the occasion, or at least give moral support thru their thunderous cheers and applause. and yes i am not afraid of getting boxed by readers who think i'm repeating this, but our class was simply great lar...we won so many intra-sch competitions. and yes, as trina mentioned, we fared v well in intersch competitions too [in 2001]. during the tournament month and the SYF season, our morning assemblies were always topped with handing-over-the-challenge-trophy-to-the-pricipal ceremonies. the principal must haf been very happy then. sadly TK has a different principal now...and juniors have told me how irritating she can be. so haha, glad i'm out of there. well, i have never equated TKGS with O levels or studies, cos i feel that is just so boring. and it wd bring back bad memories of hating maths and never making it to a triple-science class. not tt i regret taking arts subjects, but i just hated lit back then in sec sch. so thats how life went in TKGS.

on to TJC...the equation shd be TJC = badminton + CG3302, but i know there wasnt a balance at all. it was like 70% badminton and 30% 3302...quite bad ar...and much of tt 30% was due to the time spent with classmates after the tournament in yr 2. sigh i was tt evil eh? still damn attached to badminton in TJ altho in sec sch, i had told myself i was never gg to join badminton in TJC. like trina, i discovered that our archrivals during the sec sch era are actually very nice people. altho the guys were full of nonsense, and we had captains who were super ON abt PT, the AHS peeps make good teammates. altho we didnt manage to win any title[the guys were finalists for both yrs we were there, while the girls were finalists when we were in yr 1. btw, it's all neville's sch's fault for always winning the 'A' division title], what i experienced as a player in TJ badminton was definitely more of a lesson than anything else. in TK, it used to be training and just training, sumhow feeling tt the sch couldnt do without us cos we had good players back then, and we seemed to haf the strongest team in many yrs. ok i dunno whether others shared this feeling but i think we took it for granted that we were strong. in TJ, when the disbandment notice was read to us in Nov 2002, we were at a loss as to what to do. think my AHS teammates, or even the ppl from the Wong clan[which wd include TKGians like me] wd never haf thought we would be disbanded. afterall, we were all players from the top 4 sec schs[badminton-wise] in the country. those who appealed into TJ thru badminton became unsure whether life without badminton would have any meaning then. and gosh we were treated like entry-level job applicants when NSB decided to conduct interviews to select people for a fresh team. i hated interviews. i still do. in the end, it went well, with only one teammate deciding to quit. man...did i write abt the disbandment on this blog when it happened? i shall dig into my archives later [on second read, I realise the incident happened in 2002, which means tt I wouldn't haf written abt it here, cos I didn't haf a blog yet]. well, like i said ealier, i didnt spend much time with my class. but i am truly grateful for the gifts bestowed upon me in that 2 yrs, the gifts being the people from the girls' clique. pls dun think we only stick to our grp or sth. 3302 was a great class...frenly people with a funky econs tutor. she treated the whole class to swensen's in yr2 eh...no joke. anyway, i used to be scared of her in yr 1 cos she was damn strict. but upon learning that we are cool kids who always had ways to amuse her, she was less strict in yr 2. and it worked, didnt it? most ppl scored A or B. haha we took quite a lot of photos too...to make things simple, think most of what is 3302 in my memories are things that happened in yr 2. i was alien to sum ppl, and sum ppl were aliens to me when i was in yr 1, but we became good frens in yr 2. amazing eh? so i'll end off thanking trina...for helping me relive the experience in my mind. and in writing of cos...
