hey bloggie! its a brand new week!...lol, not that a new week makes a difference to me since i quitted my job 1 mth ago...just that it's good to see the sun shining once more...which conveniently brings me to the topic of death...ok, not DEATH as a topic in itself...just that recently there's been quite alot of news that caught my attention...firstly, the hype abt D-Day...well yea we know abt that battle at Normandy beach...they honour the soldiers who died in that battle in the name of honour and glory...but beyond that, the fact still holds that so many ppl died...because of what? because of WAR! isnt that sad....whats even sadder is that the human race doesnt seem to learn...even as i'm typing on my keyboard now, there may be sumbody who's just killed in a bomb blast in the corners of the Middle East...that makes WAR an extremely scary thing...we dun wanna meddle with the motives of war, or i'll be able to write a whole book on it...but the results of war, thats what matters, isnt it? and all these yrs, 60 yrs after the supposedly important day such as the D-Day, human beings still dun realise that WAR KILLS...why cant we all be peace-lovers? isnt peace good, thats why those beauty pageant finalists always wish for WORLD PEACE rite? *sigh* getting abit too idealistic for my own good here, cos i realise i dun even haf the power to like tell the Americans to stop meddling in other ppl's affairs...whats been drilled into me, the US is, afterall, the global policeman...what i can do is only pray...pray hard that ppl will stop killing each other soon...hope they'll realise that WAR doesnt get them much further from where they were initially....becos even if u get ur country forward or watever, you lose thousands, and millions in the case of bigger countries, of your ppl in the process...ok thats abt it for the WAR part...now on to the passing of Ronald Reagan...found out yesterday that he was born in the same yr as my late grandpa...only that my grandpa didnt haf as long a live as his...but anyway, when i watched the news, they keep repeating the phrase "cold war veteran" when they mention Ronald Reagan...and i'm made to recall the gruelling sessions with Mr Bala abt the cold war stuff...haha...as i try to recall the lectures, i realise that life is gg on too fast for me...isnt it only yesterday that i was gg for my first bala lecture? isnt it only recently that i joined the TJC Badminton team? this is really scary...suddenly, I'm thrown into the world of independent study as i enter uni...and not long after, whats more terrifying is that i'm gg to be left carving a niche for myself as i step into the working arena...So, I hope to savour the last bits of enjoyable moments i can ever have before i go into uni...with family, with friends....think thats really IT for today...philosophising too much today...till then...
