The Final Lap...
why final lap? lol cos today is the last day of the fasting month...and tmr is Hari Raya! pls dun think i dun like fasting mth. i think its one of the best periods for family gatherings and so on. some people organise the "iftar" for people living ard their area or at the mosque. the sense of togetherness is felt at least in these events, if not in other occasions. so anyways, here's wishing all Muslims, especially my frens and family Selamat Hari Raya. may we receive the "barakah" for whatever well-intentioned deeds that we do. To my non-Muslim frens, enjoy the long weekend. but if u'r in NUS, then i think we'll haf to wait a few weeks before we can truly enjoy yea. all the best for the exams peeps!
oh btw, this morning i had the urge to write abt TJC badminton, i dunno why. it's like out of the blue kinda thing. i woke up and i suddenly thought of TJ badz. I didnt even dream of anything related to TJC badminton. ok btw, when i go online, the first website that i'll go to is my blog, altho this happened only after my lects and tutorials were over. when it's during term time, the first webbie i go to is the NUS IVLE webbie. yea sounds like a loser...but well i haf to check out whether got new lecture notes and announcements...oh and i realise i like to print my lecture notes...haha dunno why. ok i digress...so back to the TJ thing. the other time when me n trina met Limin in sch to get the TJ frenly photos, she asked us whether we missed badminton. and both of us said, without much hesitation, "Not really lar". well, i think its not badminton per se which i'm missing, but perhaps the people. when i said i most likely wouldnt join badminton in TJC [ in TK, when i'd always known that TJC Badminton has a lot of AHS pple], perhaps i didnt think that far. i was preoccupied with the rivalry between us and AHS. actually almost everyone treat AHS as their rivals, but perhaps we believed we were strong enuff to overcome them that yr. it was 2001, and we won the championship. i had a lot of good memories with the TK team, but it all took a turn for the worse when we went to different JCs. it didnt help that our coach in TK decided to add on more money to his pocket by coaching that sch...ok so anyway, to keep the story short, those in VJ did a really despicable thing that i dun think any other team would haf thought of. and then, our relationship went sour. even now, when we r out of our respective JCs, i still feel weird talking to them when we used to laugh and cry together in TK. for the past 2 yrs, I've always felt that i had to be on my guard whenever i converse with them. I thank God nothing such as the above happened to my relationship with my teammates in TJC. altho i cant say for sure everybody loves everybody else in the team, at least there are no hard feelings. well even if got small quarrels and blah, it wasnt that bad until i had to watch what i say to a certain teammate or anything. to put things simply, I felt more at ease while i was with my team at TJC. altho we didnt get to hold the championship trophy, the times i've spent with my teammates are definitely those i cherish. altho i cant say i was very close to the guys' team, we'r all frenly people...hehe...one thing which happened at the end of our first yr actually showed how determined we were to start anew. i was very scared that it wd be the end of our badminton "careers". but we kept the faith...we held on....and we got thru JC life, with memories of TJ badminton etched in our minds. ok enuff of this nostalgic talk i guess. anyways, i had wanted to say this before i started my long story but i forgot. Cuilin, I was surprised at ur visit to my blog, just when i had decided to write abt TJC Badminton. perhaps its a sign i miss u all...take care babe!
