yes quite relieved 2 out 3 mid-term tests are over. left SOCIOLOGY on thursday, which i cant bring myself to revise cos there are too much stuff. alot of concepts to grapple with and i dun think i will write a gd essay during the test. like pls, i'm not the kind who's gd at definitions and applying stuff. yeayea the only thing in my mind now is Karl Marx. oh no, pls dun get the wrong idea that i'm dreaming abt Karl Marx or sth. just that his concept seems the clearest to me, maybe cos i've encountered it in History. and btw, talking abt mid-term tests, i feel so cheated today! all the reading of the Euro Textbk and notes didnt really help much cos the lecturer didnt even test on any concept. His test was just abt dates and events and names associated with those events. Like what the hell man! and the more stupid thing was that the MCQ consisted of only 20 qns...gosh all that reading....1 1/2 yrs of history 1 in JC, squeezed into 20 MCQs. got one very stupid qn i remember. CIRCLE THE NAME THAT IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE 1ST INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION. gosh do i look like the sort who will bother abt names? especially when trying to match the names with what they invented! i dun think i'll do well for the test, altho i may pass. EL test was more encouraging tho'. scored relatively well, which is a spur factor for studying harder. but the point is, u cannot study hard for EL. no use! must understand lor...dun understand will die terribly. the last qn i flung totally...0/10. wonderful...and this is only on morphemes and word classes. next quiz sure die cos it'll include phonetics! boohoo! hate phonetics...abt 5 yrs ago[wow thats quite a long way back], when i watched My Fair Lady for literature, I was amazed and was actually interested in phonetics when I saw Professor Higgins indulging in the world of phonetics, while trying to teach Eliza Doolittle the 'proper' way of speaking English[she had spoken with the Cockney accent, which was thought to be far from 'refined']. now, all that interest has gone cos i hate having to transcribe words into what they sound like. very tedious...like who cares which part of the tongue touches the soft or hard part of ur palate when u r speaking?! ugh...talking abt speech, doesnt help that today i feel pain when speaking cos my throat hurts. so other than EL test, the day that passed wasnt very gd at all...
