bloggie bloggie bloggie....i'm gg to complain again....sorry yingling but i think its just my luck...not many things haf gone right for me ever since i got into NUS. anyways, here comes all my grumbling....
it was pouring like shit at abt 2 plus just now, with me and joan stuck in Macs at engine fac...we had lunch there n i hadnt expected it to rain in the afternn since it already rained in the morning. well, it rained just when we sorta wanna set off from there...oh well, didnt work out so we were sitting there in the cold, n i was biting ice cubes....dun ask me why i did that when it was damn cold just now...anyways, finally after abt 20mins-1/2hr, the rain kinda stopped, just a few drops here n there...so me and joan walked out of macs towards the engine bus-stop...took A2 with joan cos i had to deliver the stupid letter to YIH...those who read the previous post would roughly know what i'm referring to...anyways, yea i got off at YIH bus-stop, crossed the road and went into the clinic...spoke to the "receptionist" abt the letter i haf to give to the doc that asked me to go for follow-up...this nurse/receptionist still not too bad, she just directed me to the registration counter and asked me to explain my situation to the nurse over there. thats what i did...n while i was speaking, i could see the nurse frowning so bad as if i was talking in a foreign language...so nonsense...anyway, she told me to sit down and wait for the next thing to be done...while i was waiting, i could hear her asking her colleague whether i needed to be referred back to the doc that first saw me when i went for health checkup...gosh, doesnt she know what to do? oh yea thats still not too bad...a few mins later, she gave me a queue no...had to wait for a while to see the doc so i just sit down there, complaining to trina abt the YIH nurses and docs thru sms...then came 3 caucasian guys...approached the registration counter, probably had to settle medical stuff as well but they werent sure where to go...n u know what?! the nurse was smiling widely and said "yes?" in a very nice tone...and the guys told her what they went there for, n the nurse gave them the instructions in such a frenly tone which was inevident just minutes before! omg tat made me disgusted...i was wondering whether the nurses think that by treating the caucasians better, they'd probably get a pay rise or sth...gosh i couldnt stand it...i mean all of us are students, so why shd the treatment be different??? anyway i realise this does not happen only in YIH clinic, it happens outside as well...shopkeepers, especially those in shopping centres, give better treatment to foreigners...well, they may think tat they haf a higher purchasing power, but hello, do they think we haf absolutely no money to buy their goods? a great example would be this shop at Suntec...cant remember who exactly were with me at that point in time...perhaps trina and angel lar...went into this sports shop...the shopkeeper didnt even greet us...when this caucasian guy came into the shop, he was practically transformed into sum polite shopkeeper who didnt wanna lose that potential buyer...so irritatingly disgusting! anyway, shadnt go on anymore cos it just makes me feel more disgusted...
i'd like to tell u all abt the checkup with the NUS doc instead...btw i didnt even bother to say "hi" or "gd afternn" which i usually say when i go for any kind of checkup...cos i was super-irritated by the registration counter incident. woah what the doctor asked me even made me more irritated...she asked: "How are you?"[with a super-auntie tone]. well i said "ok"...i mean i was not sick in the first place rite? gosh...anyway i gave her monosyllabic answers most of the time...woah then she had the cheek to ask me whether i had to see a specialist...asking a rhetorical qn lor...cos like definitely polyclinic cant do much more than check my BP and do the ECG test...they dun haf the specialised equipment in polyclinics! i dunno why she had so many qns to ask today...asked how much was the echocardiogram...make me feel damn irritated...and u know what, after that she asked the ultimate rhetorical qn..."You come here today just to pass me the letter issit?"...omg that was the last straw...i was already boiling inside but i had to control my anger lest i get referred to the Institute of Mental Health in the near future...as expected, my answer was monosyllabic again..."Yes." thats it...then she just ask me to keep a copy of the Echo report, so that next time if any other doc asks abt my health condition, i can just show them the report...oh btw, altho i dint recognise a lot of the medical terms used on the report, i definitely saw this particular word appearing at every corner, in fact not only corner...center, side, up and down...everywhere! the word was "Normal"...of cos i thank God that everything's fine...but u know...i just feel irritated, by the YIH doc and nurses that is....
