Quotable quotes I see

"Losing one's own confidence causes a person to fall into confusion, which is hell...To maintain one's confidence, the most important thing is stamina."

    2004 in perspective...

ahaha wanna do summary of the year must act pro a bit. but actually, i couldnt care less about the title lar. just there to look nice...after reading sum of my frens' blogs, i decided to do a summary of sum sort about the year thats going to disappear forever. whats left of 2004 will be memories, both good and not so good. for me, 2004 has been quite a fruitful year i must say. earning my first dollar, getting my A level results, being able to go to the university are some of the "good" things that happened in the yr. well nothing comes easy...so yea, i had to listen to ppl complain day in day out before earning my first month's salary. going to uni means i haf to endure all the nonsense of the bidding system, the lousy admin wing and sum nonsense from certain lecturers too...but overall, i think its been quite a good yr.

of cos, if i try to do a global analysis, or regional at least, 2004 has not ended on a happy note. for one, we were plagued by the bird flu for quite long. altho not many human lives were sacrificed, it did take a toll on the fowl industry. for the record, i dint eat a single egg for 1 whole month. more recently, we are now facing the consequences of what they call "killer waves"...when i first saw the expression on channelnewsasia, i tot they were talking abt killer whales. i didnt wear my specs u see. of cos, i did realise they were and still are talking about the tsunamis that have hit so many countries in the region. its really sth that has made so many people devastated and homeless. and the death toll is still rising. in malay, u'd say this incident to be mengerikan. loosely translated, it'd mean scary. but its more than scary. i'll just say i'm thankful to God s'pore is protected by other land areas. btw, i think mediacorp made the right decision not to televise the countdown show on ch5. cos the mood is just not right. even as we celebrate and welcome the new yr, many others are crying over their losses, in terms of housing, source of income, not to forget the loss of family members...hmmm...but it is a fact we all have to live on. for housewives who haf lost their husbands and kids to the tsunamis, they'll haf to look for a way to keep themselves alive, whether by waiting for aid to arrive or trying to find a job. of cos finding a job now isnt easy, with almost everything in their towns destroyed.

whatever it is, i just hope 2005 will be a better yr. before i leave 2004, i shall take note of sum of the things that happened to me in 2004:

    the good things:

    the not-so-good things:

k thats abt it. welcome 2005!
